I have been fishing the Redington Predator 10-weight since ice-out this year. Redington boasts, “It features a powerful, intuitive fast action that commands enough power to combat big gamefish and pick up and cast today's heavy lines and massive flies.” I could not agree more and at the price of $299 I would argue you won’t find a rod that provides more bang for the buck.
I have thrown everything from big poppers to gigantic streamers for hours on end and this rod has never left me asking for more. It has incredible strength in the mid and butt sections and can pick up more line then should be legal. Whether fishing a floating line or a heavy sinking line it delivers.
Bottom line, this rod is ready to fight large fish all day long and come back asking for more the next day.
The Redington Predator is offered in line weights from 5-12* in an assortment of lengths. They also offer 10-weight Pike specific and 11-weight Musky specific options with larger fighting butts. As with every Redington rod, they also offer a lifetime warranty.
* Redington will be adding 12, 14, and 16-weight models in late 2017
